Father, Mother, God,
Thank you for your presence
during the hard and mean days.
For them we have you to lean upon.

Thank you for your presence
during the bright and sunny days
For them we can share that which we have
with those who have less.

And thank you for your presence
during the Holy Days, for then we are able
to celebrate you and your families
and our friends.

For those who have no voice,
we ask you to speak.
For those who feel unworthy,
we ask you to pour your love out
in waterfalls of tenderness.

For those who live in pain,
we ask you to bathe them
in the river of your healing.

For those who are lonely, we ask
you to keep them company.
For those who are depressed, we ask you
to shower upon them
the light of hope.

Dear Creator, You, the borderless
sea of substance, we ask you to give to all the world that which we need most—Peace

—Maya Angelou

Many thanks to those parishioners who contributed to the Church Collection last Sunday. Amount received: $6,559 and the School Collection was $1,238. Cost of running the Parish for the week: $5,200.

Next Sunday’s Second Collection is for the support of the Parish Improvement Fund. Please give generously.

Today the Church invites us to be attentive to the fullness of Christ’s coming. He is sent to all people through out the world. The gospel story of the Wise Men from the East who are guided by a star becomes the lesson we need to hear in order to be attentive to the guides that are provided for us in life. We are called upon to seek and to find new ways in which the message of peace and love can be manifested in our world.

Dear Friends,

Happy New Year ! Manigong Bagong Taon,! I hope all of you had a good Christmas and New Year’s.

I was blown away by all the Chrismas Cards and Gifts I received from all of you. Thank you with all my heart. I will be writing “thank you’s” to all of you. But please be patient with me, as I have many to write. Your goodness and generosity are one of many reasons why I am happy to be your Pastor.

During these past six months since I came to MD, I have outlined our parish’s financial situation. Our Sunday collections are up, thanks to all of you. During next six months, I will let you know what needs to be done around here as well as the cost. MD is a facility that is 45 years old and is beginning to show its age. We all need to work together on this and I do mean all. This is your parish and we should want nothing but the best for God and His People.

The Rectory is in need of a Housekeeper since Virgie is leaving. The Housekeeper works 15 hours a week. If you know of anyone who might be interested, please let me know. I want to publicly thank Virgie for her 6 years of service to MD and I wish her well in her future endeavors.

I also want to thank the Valera Family for providing the music at the 5 p.m. Saturday Evening Mass these past 15 years. You will be missed ! Again, If you know anybody who could take over the music for this Mass, please let me know.

May 2006 be the best year yet.

Have a great week!

Father Brian
