Thank you for
your support!
Our parish will be offering the
Holy
Sacrifice of the Mass
on
Saturday,
March 4th,
in the All Saints Mausoleum Chapel at Holy
Cross Cemetery at 11:00 a.m. You are
invited to join Father Padazinski and
follow parishioners in offering this
special Mass for your relatives, friends
and deceased parishioners buried there.
This Mass will provide us with an
excellent opportunity to pray for the
souls of the faithful departed. We hope
that many of you will be able to join us.

Dear Friends,
This coming Wednesday,
March 1st, is Ash Wednesday, the
beginning of our Lenten Season.
Mass times for Ash Wednesday are
8 am, 9:30 am (School Mass), 12
Noon, and 7:30 pm. Ashes will be
distributed after all the
Masses.
During Lent, there will be
a special 7:30 p.m. Mass Monday
through Thursday. On the
Fridays of Lent, we will
have Stations of the Cross
followed by Benediction at 7:30
pm. Please make an extra effort
to do something special for
Lent.
May I kindly remind you
that Ash Wednesday is a day of
Fast and Abstinence. On the
Fridays of Lent, we abstain from
meat. The only other day during
Lent we fast and abstain from
food is Good Friday.
By now you should received
my letter in the mail regarding
the AAA. If you didnt
receive a letter, it means you
are not a registered parishioner.
During the first 2 Sundays of
Lent, we will be having talks on
the AAA. Since one of the 3
components of Lent is almsgiving
(the other 2 are prayer and
fasting), I couldnt think
of more appropriate time to give
these talks than at the start of
our Lenten Season.
The Rectory is still in
need of a House Keeper. The House
Keepers job is 15 hours a
week. If interested, or if you
know someone who is, please call
Rosemary in the Parish
Office.
Last, but certainly not
least, I want to publicly thank
Ofelia Madriaga for her 29 years
of service to Mater Dolorosa
School, especially this past year
when she agreed to be the
Principal of the School. Ofelia
will be retiring at the end of
June. Sister Teri, who is
presently teaching 3rd Grade,
will be the new Principal. Thank
you, Ofelia, for a job well done.
Thank you, Sister Teri, for
saying yes to being
the new Principal. I am very
excited about the school and the
positive direction in which it is
going.

Dear Mater Dolorosa
Community,
After 29 years here at
Mater Dolorosa I am retiring at
the end of the school year. You
have been so kind and supportive
of me and I thank you for your
love and affirmation of my
leadership. All the memories, the
celebrations, and gatherings, the
festivals, will always be
remembered. But most of all I
will not forget the beautiful
people that you are. For now, my
ministry at the school is over,
but my ministry to the Church is
on going.
Sister Teresita Capurihan
will be the next Principal.
Please give her the same support
and trust you have given me.
Sister holds a masters and
doctorate degrees in Education
and Administration. We are
blessed to have her. She comes
ready for this big challenge. Her
Bio Data will be published at a
later date.

Again, thank you
and God bless you.
