AAA 2006 UPDATE

Your hard Earned Money at Work

As of April 17th, 313 Families have pledged $82,256 to the Archbishop’s Annual Appeal. Because of your tremendous support for the Appeal, we have been able to make the following improvements:

1.   A new Telephone System in the Rectory: Cost  $4,032.40

2.   A new  Convent Roof : Cost $19,150.00

3.   A new Rectory Roof plus 3 new Skylights:   Cost $23,950.00

4.   Removal of all dead Pine Trees around the Church: Cost $4,050.00

I will keep you posted as to the other improvements we make around here in order to make Mater Dolorosa the jewel of a parish it can be.  May I ask  a simple question, though: about 1/3 of our Families responded to the Annual Appeal. What happened to the other 2/3’s?  A big, big thank you to all who have given.  To those who didn’t give anything, why not?  I would really like to know.

Dear Friends,

                                    Jesus is Risen Alleluia! !

What a great Lent we had!  What a great Holy Week and Easter!  The Church looked beautiful, thanks to Lillie and her Altar Society. The music was uplifting, thanks to Angie and her Choir.   The Eucharistic Ministers, Readers, Altar Servers, and Ushers did a magnificent job.  Thank you, one and all, for helping to make both Lent and Easter very special this year.

My last thank you goes to you, the good people of Mater Dolorosa.  Your attendance and participation in Church throughout these past 40 days was truly inspiring.  Thank you to each and every one for being the kind and generous people you are.  I feel truly blest to be here.

It has come to my attention that some of the Financial Statement mailed out last month were in error. Sorry about that!  Rosemary informs me that our Hard Drive Program that had the Financial Statements for the whole Parish on them is broke.  I promise you that this problem will be fixed ASAP.  In the meantime, if our record don’t match up with yours, please give Rosemary a call in the Rectory Office and she will fix and update them for you.  Sorry again, for any inconvenience.

I will be in Minneapolis all this week at a Priest’s Convention for the  Archdiocese.  I will see you next Weekend.  In the meantime, enjoy the Sun and our beautiful Spring Weather.

Fr. Brian
