Dear Friends,
This past week has been the most
difficult week of my life.
It was the week we said goodbye to Mom. Even though Mom had been sick for the past ten years,
you can never really prepare for your Mom’s death. She was a good and decent woman
who gave her four children much love, and for that, I am thankful to God. Mom suffered greatly and now she
is in a place where there is no more pain, no more suffering. God is, indeed, good!
I
can’t thank all my parishioners enough for their support and
prayers. At the Vigil, as
well as at the Funeral Mass, I saw people from St. Anthony’s, St.
Charles, and Mater Dolorosa, all parishes I have ministered in since
becoming a priest. Also, a
good number of my priest friends showed up. Mom loved priests, and I know she would have been
very happy to see so many at her funeral. Thank you, Mater Dolorosa, for being there for me and
my family when you were most needed. I will never forget your kindness.
Happy Father’s Day to all you Dads
out there. Know that I will
remember all of your Dads, whether living or dead, at my Masses today.
Happy
Corpus Christi, happy Body and Blood of Christ Sunday. As Christ is our Bread of Life,
may we become that Bread for others.
Have a great week!
Father Brian
Help
Us Recycle
The Society of St. Vincent de Paul has started
a program to recycle small appliances—stereos, speakers , computers,
monitors, printers, TVs, DVDs, VCRs, microwaves, small kitchen
appliances, etc., whether they are working or not. Do something good for the
environment and save yourself the cost of paying dumping fees. Items can be brought to stores
conveniently located in Daly City, SSF, San Mateo, Redwood City, or call
(650) 871-6844 to arrange a pick-up. All proceeds from the recycling program benefit the
needy in San Mateo County.
