Dear Friends,

This coming Wednesday we will be having our Annual Town Hall Meeting in the church. The meeting starts at 7:30 p.m. This is the one time out of the whole year that I get to speak to you outside of Mass. I need to get a “sense of the parish” regarding some important decisions that I need to make this year. Also, there will be time for some Q and A. I invite all parishioners to come to this important meeting as we chart the future of M.D. Parish.

Next weekend is our Festival. This is our biggest money raiser of the year. Both the school and the parish need your support. Countless hours have been put in by your fellow parishioners to make this a fun event for all. Please stop by next weekend, spend a few bucks, and enjoy the company of your M.D. community.

Last but not least, I want to thank Mary and Frank Cianciolo for our new stainless steel Communion cups. I also want to thank Gloria and Joe Flores, as well as Lucille and Larry Casey, for getting the parish new American and Vatican flags. It’s parishioners like you that make my job a whole lot easier.

Have a great week! See you at the Town Hall Meeting on Wednesday and the Festival next weekend!

Parish Festival News

Do you have new games and “other stuff” at home or work that you have discovered that you really don’t need? Perhaps you have gifts that you would like to pass on. We can use it at the festival, along with any gift certificates from your favorite store, gaming or toy stores, or restaurants. Plants, and palms (especially for decorating), cakes cookies, candles, toys, giftware, etc. are all needed and will contribute to our biggest fundraiser this year! We also need items for the Silent Auction: Tickets to plays or sports events, jewelry, and non-perishable food, wines, or liquors appropriate for gift baskets. Please bring any donations to the school office.

Booth chairpersons and assistants are need for: Prize redemption and the slot machines (open to anyone over 21 years old).

The festival will be a great success with every family helping in any way they can. Please call Angi Rodriguez at (650) 873-2167 or Liza Bouska at (650) 218-7839 if you have any questions.

Kindly return any extra raffle tickets so that we may use them at the event.

See you at the festival!
