Mater Dolorosa Catholic Church
30th Sunday in Ordinary Time
October 29, 2006 - Bulletin

The Lord has done great things for us; we are filled with joy.”

Psalm 126

True blindness is not a condition of our eyes, but of our hearts.

First Reading:
Jeremiah 31:7-9 I will lead the people to brooks of water, on a level road, so that none shall stumble.

Second Reading: Hebrews 5:1-6 It was not Christ who glorified himself, but rather the one who said to him: You are my son. This day I have begotten you.

Gospel: Mark 10:46-52 Immediately the blind man received his sight and followed Jesus on the way.

We pray for all the sick in our parish, especially: Maureen Dan, Dalton Delahoussaye, Jack Devine, Florence Farrow, Jovita Guajardo, Lory Manzano, and Frances Wood.

We pray for the happy repose of the soul of Rey Tameta who passed away this month.

May God bless them and their families.

I’m sure by now you have noticed our new bulletin cover, with all our new updated information regarding staff, contact numbers, and our E-mail addresses. The picture of our Lady of Sorrows on the cover is very beautiful in color, and we would like to have it appear in three colors as soon as possible. Our representative, John Strohmeier from J. S. Paluch (our bulletin company) will be available after each Mass this weekend. If you are a business owner willing to advertise on the back of our bulletin, please see John. The more advertising spaces we fill up, the faster we will be publishing in color!

Our parish will be offering the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass on Saturday, November 4th, in the All Saints Mausoleum Chapel at Holy Cross Cemetery at 11:00 a.m. You are invited to join Father Brian, our 10 o’clock Sunday Choir, and your fellow parishioners in offering this special Mass for your relatives, friends, and deceased parishioners buried here. This Mass will provide us with an excellent opportunity to pray for the souls of the faithful departed during this month of All Souls. We hope that many of you will be able to join us.
