The widows gave without
selfishness, trusting God. Jesus
offered His life for
us.

The widow of Zarephath had only a handful
of flour and a little oil, but made a
little cake for Elijah.

Hebrews
9:24-28
Christ will appear a second time to bring
salvation to those who eagerly await
him.

long robes and accept greetings in the
marketplaces and places of honor at
banquets.

THE
SOCIETY OF ST. VINCENT DE PAUL
CHRISTMAS GIVING TREE
2006
In the
traditional spirit of Mater Dolorosa, our
annual giving Christmas tree will be up in
the vestibule of our church beginning the
weekend of November 25th through December
15th. For your convenience, we would like
you to purchase Target gift cards rather
than individually wrapped gifts for the
needy families of our parish community.
There will be ornament tags on
the giving tree that indicate purchasing a
$10 gift cardplease pick an
ornament tag and purchase as many
gift cards as youd like. Please
label the gift card envelopes
SVDP and either mail or bring
them to the Rectory, or drop the gift
cards into the Sunday collection basket.
As always, we thank you for all of your
generosity and support.
We wish you
and your families
a very blessed Christmas season.
