Mater Dolorosa Catholic Church
32nd Sunday in Ordinary Time
November 12, 2006 - Bulletin

“Praise the Lord, my soul!.”

Psalm 146

The widows gave without selfishness, trusting God. Jesus offered His life for us.

First Reading:
1 Kings 17:10-16 The widow of Zarephath had only a handful of flour and a little oil, but made a little cake for Elijah.

Second Reading: Hebrews 9:24-28 Christ will appear a second time to bring salvation to those who eagerly await him.

Gospel: Mark 12:38-44[41-44] Beware of those who like to go around in long robes and accept greetings in the marketplaces and places of honor at banquets.

We pray for all the sick in our parish, especially: Maureen Dan, Jack Devine, Florence Farrow, Jovita Guajardo, and Lory Manzano.

May God bless them and their families.

In the traditional spirit of Mater Dolorosa, our annual giving Christmas tree will be up in the vestibule of our church beginning the weekend of November 25th through December 15th. For your convenience, we would like you to purchase Target gift cards rather than individually wrapped gifts for the needy families of our parish community. There will be “ornament” tags on the giving tree that indicate purchasing a $10 gift card—please pick an “ ornament” tag and purchase as many gift cards as you’d like. Please label the gift card envelopes “SVDP” and either mail or bring them to the Rectory, or drop the gift cards into the Sunday collection basket. As always, we thank you for all of your generosity and support.

We wish you and your families
a very blessed Christmas season.
