AS
A PARISH COMMUNITY
We pray for all the sick in our parish,
especially: Maureen Dan, Jack Devine,
Florence Farrow, Jovita Guajardo, Lory
Manzano, and Bob Reid.
May God bless
them and their families.
CALLING ALL EUCHARISTIC
MINISTERS
A big
thank-you to all of the people
who are Eucharistic Ministers and
volunteers who visit the patients at
Kaiser SSF regularly. I am looking
towards expanding this ministry with Bob
and Pearl Valencia. With a positive
response from the good Mater Dolorosa
people, we will be able to bring Communion
to the sick and homebound, throughout the
holidays.
Please call me at
the rectory at 583-4131 ext. 31, so that
we can give out
assignments.
Thank
youMike Quinn,
Seminarian
Our Second Collection this Sunday is for
the support of our Parish School. Next
Sunday our collection will be for our
Parish Improvement Fund.
Please be as
generous as possible.

Dear Friends,
Advent begins today. For
so many thousands of years,
people had been waiting. The
prophet Isaiah spoke of this
waiting when he wrote: The
people who walked in darkness
have seen a great light.
Gods people knew that this
Great Light would dawn. During
the season of Advent, which means
coming, we remember
the people who waited in joyful
hope for the coming of the Light.
We also pray for the light of
Jesus to be born anew in our
hearts. With the whole Church,
we wait for the celebration of
Christmas, but also for that day
when the light of Christ will
fill all people and enlighten the
whole world.
Each Sunday during Advent,
we here at Mater Dolorosa light
one candle and remember Jesus
Christ, who is the Great Light
that continues to grow and spread
in the world.

Happy
Advent!

THE SOCIETY OF ST. VINCENT DE PAUL
CHRISTMAS GIVING TREE
2006
In the
traditional spirit of Mater Dolorosa, our
annual giving Christmas tree will be up in
the vestibule of our church beginning the
weekend of November 25th through December
15th. For your convenience, we would like
you to purchase Target gift cards rather
than individually wrapped gifts for the
needy families of our parish community.
There will be ornament tags on
the giving tree that indicate purchasing a
$10 gift cardsimply pick an
ornament tag and purchase as many
gift cards as youd like. Please
label the gift card envelopes
SVDP and either mail or bring
them to the Rectory, or drop the gift
cards into the Sunday collection basket.
Thank you,
Members of
the Society of St. Vincent de Paul - Mater
Dolorosa Conference
