To The 8:00 Sunday Mass Crowd

I’m sorry that our Easter Fountain went from a soft trickle to raging waters last Sunday. It was so loud and distracting that I turned it off for the rest of the Masses. It has now been fixed. It will not happen again.

Thanks for your understanding and patience.

Dear Archbishop Niederauer,

Last Monday, April 16th, I met with Maureen Huntington and Bret Allen from the School Office. With a lot of hard work from both alumni and school parents, I joyfully informed both Maureen and Bret that we had reached 107 students for the next school year. Indeed, since Monday, we have picked up an additional 10 students making the total number of students enrolled at Mater Dolorosa School for next year at 117. I’m sure as the days and weeks go by, this number will only get higher. Maureen and Bret were just as excited as I was that we reached our goal and I know that you share in that excitement as well. I want to personally thank you for your support of the school during these troubled times. Like Thomas in last Sunday’s Gospel, I had my doubts that we would reach the benchmark number of 110. But as I’ve already said, with a lot of hard work and a lot of prayer, not only have we done it, but it has brought our parish community closer together. Again, thank you for your encouragement and support.

On Saturday, September 15th, our parish and school will be celebrating our patronal feast of Our Lady of Sorrows at the 5:00 p.m. Mass (what a joyful celebration that will be!). If your schedule allows, I would like to invite you to be the main celebrant of our Mass followed by a dinner/reception in the Hall afterwards. Please let me or Father Padazinski know if you can make it. I pray you can.

Father Brian
