We are proud to announce the following information about the Archbishop’s Annual Appeal for Mater Dolorosa Parish:

Amount Pledged to Date $54,517.00

Amount PAID to Date $38,812.00

Many thanks to the Mater Dolorosa parishioners willing to give and share, who so generously contributed to make our goal in this wonderful campaign!

We pray for all the sick in our parish, especially: Dolton Delahoussaye, Jack Devine, and Lory Manzano. May God bless them and keep them in His care.

ATTENTION!

If you were the lucky winner of two tickets to a 49er’s football game, that were awarded at the St. Patrick’s Dinner, please contact Barbara Reid at 952-4832 to claim your prize! Thank you.

On Saturday, June 9th we will celebrate at the 5:00 p.m. Mass, the retirement of Father Rolando Caverte and Mrs. Lee from Mater Dolorosa, and Sister Bernard Joseph and Mr. Jose Acosta’s moving on to minister/teach at other parish schools. We will be honoring these four people at this celebration. Please join us in celebrating their years of service at the 5:00 Mass, which will be followed by a reception in the Parish Hall. Further details will follow in upcoming bulletins.
We pray for happy repose of the soul of
Maureen Dan who passed away on May 10th. Maureen was a long-time, very active, parishioner at Mater Dolorosa, as well as a dedicated member of the St. Vincent de Paul Society.

Our prayers go to her and her loved ones.

A memorial Mass will be celebrated in honor of Lucille M. Creamer, on Monday, May 21st at St. Veronica’s Church, at 7:30 p.m. Lucille entered into eternal life on April 6, 2007.

For the summer months, we will not have a 5:00 p.m. Sunday Mass. Our last 5:00 p.m. Sunday Mass will be on May 20th and we will resume on September 9, 2007.

Our beloved Seminarian, Mike Quinn, will be leaving Mater Dolorosa at the end of May, as his pastoral year with us is almost concluded. He will be residing at St. Patrick’s Seminary and focusing his energies on prison ministry in preparation for his ordination as a Catholic priest. Some of Mike’s ministry here at Mater Dolorosa included bringing the Eucharist to the sick at Kaiser Hospital in So. San Francisco on the second and third Sunday of each month, and on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. We need Eucharistic ministers who can bring Christ to the sick on an on-going basis. You may go alone, or in pairs. This is so important to those Catholics who are hospitalized and cannot attend Mass. Will you please prayerfully consider signing up for one of these days to help those who would like to receive Communion in the hospital? Please call the rectory and speak with Mike Quinn or Fran Lidwell at 583-4131.

Thanks so much

Let us welcome Adriane Lavilla into our Catholic community through the sacrament of Baptism. Adriane was baptized on May 6, 2007 at Mater Dolorosa.
