Thank you!

We pray for all the sick in our parish, especially: Dolton Delahoussaye, Jack Devine, and Lory Manzano.
May God bless them and keep them in His care.

Reminder: For the summer months, we will not have a 5:00 p.m. Sunday Mass. Thank you.
We just received the news that Virginia Komm died. Virginia taught 4th grade in our school for many years. May she rest in peace.

Dear Mater Dolorosa Parishioners:

Thank you all for your extraordinary hospitality and generosity! You are all wonderful people of God and you really have allowed me to brag that I served one of the best parishes in the Archdiocese. I cannot thank you all enough from the supportive priests, staff, teachers, Deacon Alex, students, RCIA people, hospital ministers, patients and all the families who have allowed me the opportunity to get to know you. The hardest part of this learning experience is having to leave you now.

I must return to studies both at Creighton University and at St. Patrick’s Seminary in Menlo Park so that I might realize my goal, God willing, of being ordained a priest in June of 2009. I certainly hope that all read the “Catholic San Francisco”, so that you might join me as part of my extended family on that date. I hope to visit in the future and look forward to renewing friendships.

Wherever I go, please know that you remain in my heart and prayers.

Thank you so much,
Michael F. Quinn
(aka—“Brother Mike”)

Do you have an hour to spare helping our neighbors in need? Come to the next Volunteer Orientation to learn about the many opportunities available to assist the poor through the Society of St. Vincent de Paul. Volunteers are needed to answer the help line and give general office assistance, as well as to serve lunch at the SVdP Homeless Help Centers in San Mateo, Redwood City or So. San Francisco. Learn how you can make a difference in your SVdP Parish Conference. Call Margi Jung at 650-373-0622 to reserve a spot at the Volunteer Orientation on Tuesday, June 5th at the SVdP San Mateo District Office.

The rewards of volunteering are heavenly!
First Friday All Day Eucharistic Adoration at Mater Dolorosa

Please take some time out of your busy schedule for time spent in adoration of the Blessed Sacrament. This is an opportunity to spend time in the Holy Presence of Jesus Christ. All day adoration is followed by Holy Hour and Benediction at 7:30 p.m. Our next First Friday is on July 6, 2007.

Please give it some thought

Please join us for a Parish Dinner, on Saturday, June 9th following the 5:00 p.m. Mass. We will celebrate the retirement of Father Rolando Caverte from Mater Dolorosa. We will also be honoring those long-time educators who have contributed many years of service to our school. We will honor: Mr. Jose Acosta, Ms. Anne Hartlein, Sister Bernard Joseph and Ms. Margarita Lee. We wish them God’s blessings as they move on to minister/teach at other parish schools.

Please plan to attend Mass followed by dinner in the Parish Hall.
