especially: Dolton Delahoussaye, Jack
Devine, and Lory Manzano.
May God bless them and keep them in His
care.

Who do you say that I
am? Jesus asks Peter in
todays Gospel. Does my use
of the gifts and talents
entrusted to me accurately
reflect my answer to that same
question? How willing am I to
deny myself, take up my cross,
and follow in His steps? (see
Luke 9:20)

Dear
Friends,
I found this in our Book of
Prayer in the Vestibule of the
Church:
Dear
Heavenly Lord,
- Please
help the school stick
together. Most of us students
are afraid that we will be
separated. M.D. is like our
second family. This school
made us who we are. And God,
thank you for giving us M.D.
I just wish we couldve
stayed longer. God, please
help us. In this time of
sorrow, we really need you.
Also, help the parents stop
fighting. Help peace to come
into our community. And if
the school really does close,
help us all to keep in touch
and have a good future. We
love you God.
Amen.

Closing
a school is the hardest
decision anyone will ever
make. Someone told me it is
death by a thousand cuts.
Indeed it is! A 46 year old
tradition of quality Catholic
education has now come to an
end. What is upsetting to me,
and to many parishioners, is
that it did not have to
happen. The victims of all
this are our beautiful
children. How do you explain
to a child what happened?
Indeed, I wonder how many
people thought about the
children when they were bad
mouthing our school? With all
that being said, its
time for us as a parish to
move on. It will not be easy,
but move on we must. I firmly
believe that we will become a
stronger and more unified
parish in the process. I
thank God for all our children
who attended M.D. for the past
46 years. I also thank all
who served in our school as
teachers and staff. Thank
you, parishioners, who
financially supported our
school down through the years.
A new chapter is beginning
here at Mater Dolorosa and I
am proud to be a part of
it.
Have
a great week!

WANTED:
More singers, musicians, and
instrumentalists at both the 10:00 a.m.
and 12:00 Noon Sunday Masses. We are also
looking for children to build up our
Childrens Choir on the first Sunday
of the month at the 10:00 a.m. Mass.
Additionally, we are looking for a Cantor
at the 5:00 p.m. Saturday evening Mass and
for an Organist at the 8:00 a.m. Sunday
Mass. If interested in helping out in any
of these music ministries, please call the
Rectory. Our Sunday Liturgy is only as
good as the people who choose to serve.
Thank
you for thinking about serving in any of
these wonderful music ministries!
This winter, when we leave the church, we
wont have to jump over a puddle!
Thanks to the continued and generous
contributions made by our parishioners to
the Parish Improvement Fund, we were able
to have some concrete and drainage work
done. We have also made improvements to
the mens restroom. Thank-you
generous members of our Mater Dolorosa
Parish.
We
couldnt have done it without
you!
