We
pray for all the sick in our parish,
especially: Dolton Delahoussaye, Jack
Devine, and Lory Manzano. May God bless
them and keep them in His
care.
Jesus urges us to be rich in what matters
to God. The psalmist warns us against
hardening our hearts. Are our hearts open
to what really matters?

Notice: If anyone mistakenly picked up a
pair of prescription glasses (SILHOUETTE)
in a black Kenneth Cole pouch, will you
kindly bring them to the Mater Dolorosa
Rectory, or give us a call at 583-4131?
The glasses were placed on the table in
the vestibule on July 28th.
Thanks so much!
GREETERS

THE HAIR
CUT
A young
boy had just gotten his drivers
license and inquired of his father if they
could discuss his use of the car. His
father said Ill make a deal
with you. You bring your grades up from a
C to a B average, study your Bible a
little, get your hair cut, and well
talk about the car.
Well,
the boy thought about that for a moment,
and decided that hed settle for the
offer, and they agreed on it. After about
six weeks they went into the study, where
his father said, Son, Ive been
real proud. You brought your grades up,
and Ive observed that you have been
studying your Bible, and participating a
lot more in the Bible study groups. But,
Im real disappointed since you
havent gotten you hair cut. The
young man paused a moment then said,
You know Dad, Ive been
thinking about that, and Ive noticed
in my studies of the Bible, that Samson
had long hair, John the Baptist had long
hair, Moses had long hair and there is
even a strong argument that Jesus had long
hair.
To this
his father replied, Did you also
notice that they all walked everywhere
they went?

Due to popular demand, on Labor Day,
Monday, September 3rd, we will switch the
weekly daily Mass (Monday through
Saturday) back to 8:00
a.m.
We say a fond farewell to Sonny & Cha
Cha Dagdagas who were our married musical
team for the 5:00 Saturday Mass at Mater
Dolorosa for the past 13 years. Due to a
change in their schedule, they can no
longer make the drive from Hayward to
grace us with their beautiful voices and
music. We owe them a big thank-you in
grateful appreciation of their music
ministry which they shared with us for so
many years. . . . . thank-you Sonny and
Cha Cha. . . . you will be missed.
