Second Reading: 2 Timothy 4:6-8, 16-18 The Lord will rescue me from every threat.

COLLECTION TOTALS - October 21, 2007

First Collection Total - $5,305.50
Second Collection Total - $1,632.00 (World Mission Sunday)

Thank you for your continued support!

Our Second Collection this Sunday is for The Bread for the World Collection. Our Second Collection next Sunday is for CCD.

Thank you!

We pray for all the sick in our parish family, especially:
Dolton Delahoussaye, Jack Devine, John Duran, Dawn Hassinger, and Lory Manzano.

May God bless them.

Today’s theme is perseverance—Moses keeping his hands upraised throughout the battle, Paul urging Timothy to stay with the task of preaching and teaching, and the widow appealing to the corrupt judge. To be faithful stewards of God’s gifts, we, too, must persevere in the roles to which we are called.

PRO-LIFE ROSARY

Next Saturday, Nov. 3rd, is the 1st Saturday of the month. On every first Saturday there is a rosary prayed to end abortion. We meet at 9:00 a.m. in front of Planned Parenthood, 221 Palm Ave., San Mateo. For more information call Jessica at 572-1468, or Gloria at 345-9076.

Come and join us!

Dear Friends,

Last Saturday I got a call from the Chancery Office regarding a complaint from a parishioner about our Halloween Mass. To make a long story short, I decided to cancel the Halloween Mass. This is the first time in many, many years that I have not had a Halloween Mass. May I make a suggestion to this parishioner: In the future, would you please talk to me about any problems you may have? There is nothing more frustrating for me than to have parishioners “go over my head” rather than to take care of matters, like these, on the local level. Many children and parents are upset and confused, and for this, I apologize.

On a happier note, you will see from time to time on the different Mary Feasts, our new Mary statue. The statue was purchased in memory of our long-time parishioner, Mary Cianciolo, by her family and friends. Thank you, Cianciolo Family, for this beautiful statue in honor of your wife, Mom and Grandmother. I think Mary Cianciolo would like what you’ve done for her.

Have a great Halloween!

Father Brian

There will be a Remembrance Mass next Sunday, November 4th, at 10:00 a.m. This is our annual Mass when we remember all our parishioners who have died during this past year.
HAPPY  HALLOWEEN
Memorial Mass at Holy Cross Cemetery

Our parish will be offering the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass on Saturday, November 3rd, in the All Saints Mausoleum Chapel at Holy Cross Cemetery at 11:00 a.m. You are invited to join Father Brian and your fellow parishioners in offering this special Mass for your relatives, friends and deceased parishioners buried here. This Mass will provide us with an excellent opportunity to pray for the souls of the faithful departed. We hope that many of you will be able to join us.

News About our Parish Floor

Bluewater Environmental Services will be here on Monday, October 29th to begin the removal of the old parish hall floor and kitchen floor. It will be a “contained - water blast” process that will require a minimum of chemicals. The removal will not expose us to asbestos. This work will take 4-5 working days. Following the removal of the existing floor, IDS will install our new flooring. This process will take approximately 10-14 working days, depending on the plumbing situation in the kitchen.

This process will not interfere with our Mass schedule. We estimate that the job will be completed on November 16th (with prayers). It is our hope to have a “Celebration Pot-Luck Dinner” on November 17th following the 5:00 Mass. We’ll keep you posted!
