THEME
OF OUR LITURGY
-
|
|
Over all
other virtues, put on love, that
is, the bond of
perfection.
|
|
Colossians
3:14
|
First
Reading: Sirach 3:2-7,
12-14
Those who honor and comfort their parents
shall never be forgotten.
Second
Reading: Colossians
3:12-21
You are called into one body. Bear with
one another; forgive one another; let
Christs peace control
you.
Gospel:
Matthew 2:13-15,
19-23
Joseph rose, took the child and his
mother, and fled to
Egypt.
|
|
Josephs
obedience to God was not
a one-time thing. His
attention to the
angels warning
kept Jesus from being
murdered by Herod and
led to the fulfillment
of the prophecy that the
Messiah would be a
Nazorean. Fidelity to
Gods will assures
the best use of my
talents,
too!

HAPPY
NEW YEAR
|
IF
TREES COULD SPEAK
If trees
could speak on Christmas Day. .
.
perhaps this is what they would
say:
Ive dreamed of this
my whole life long. . .
and prayed my branches would grow
strong.
I grew up on Holy ground. . .
with Mother Nature all
around.
And then cut down in all my
glory. . .
to celebrate the Christmas
story.
I tried to look my very best. .
.
as you chose me from all the
rest.
You decorated lovingly. . .
or many precious eyes to see.
Of all my life, I have to say. .
.
love overflowed on Christmas
Day.
