THEME
OF OUR LITURGY
-
|
|
Even
when we are dejected, the Lord is
there, walking with
us.
|
First Reading: Acts 2:14,
22-33
Peter proclaimed to the crowds: God has
raised the crucified Jesus, who now pours
forth the Holy Spirit upon
us.
Second
Reading: 1 Peter
1:17-21
Our faith and hope are not in the passing
allure of silver or gold, but in God who
raised Jesus from the dead.
Gospel: Luke
24:13-35
On the evening of the first day of the
week, through his words and in the
breaking of the bread, the risen Christ
made himself known to two disciples on
their way to Emmaus.
|
|
The
disciples on the road to
Emmaus walked and talked
with Jesus all day long,
but it was not until
they offered Him
hospitality and He
blessed and broke the
bread that they
recognized Him. Simple
acts of loving kindness
still reveal the
presence of God in our
midst.

PARISHIONER
OF THE
YEAR
|
|

|
Bettina
Yap
|

|
|
|
Congratulations
go to our very own Bettina Yap as
Mater Dolorosas Parishioner
of the Year. The Young Mens
Institute of SSF held their
annual Communion Breakfast on
Sunday, March 30th, at St.
Veronicas Church where
Bettina and several other
Parishioners of the Year from
neighboring parishes were
honored. Bettinas work on
the Christmas Concerts, youth
alter server scheduling, a member
of the Parish Council, community
outreach, and her dedication to
Mater Dolorosa, makes her a very
valuable part of our parish
community. Next year, Mater
Dolorosa has offered to host this
event in our own parish hall. We
will make announcements prior to
the event so all who wish to do
so may participate. Thank you and
congratulations to Bettina Yap
and her family!
