THEME
OF OUR LITURGY
-
|
|
For us, as
for Jesus, it is the waters of
baptism that inaugurate our
mission to proclaim the Good
News.
|
First
Reading: Isaiah 42:1-4, 6-7
Behold my servant with whom I am pleased;
he shall bring forth justice to the
nations.
Second
Reading: Acts 10:34-38
God anointed him with the Holy Spirit; he
went about doing good.
Gospel:
Mark 1:7-11
You are my beloved Son, with you I am well
pleased.
|
|
Today
we celebrate the Baptism
of the Lord.
The US bishops
pastoral on stewardship
reminds us that Baptism
gives all of His
disciples a share in His
priestly work and calls
them to offer up
the world and all that
is in itespecially
themselvesto the
Lord of
all.

On January 14th we will begin to have work
done on our stained glass in the front of
the church. The glass has some very bad
leakage problems and we have hired experts
to seal up the glass and repair and
replace some glass that is cracked. The
work will not interfere with our Mass
schedule. Thank you to all of you who so
generously donate to the Parish
Improvement Fund, making it possible to
repair and improve our beloved Lady of
Sorrows stained glass.
