Mater Dolorosa Catholic Church
Second Sunday of Ordinary Time
January 18th, 2009 - Bulletin

Here am I, Lord; I come to do your will.

Psalm 40

We must always proclaim our faith in Christ, so that others will follow Him.

First Reading: 1 Samuel 3:3b-10, 19
Speak, Lord, for your servant is listening.

Second Reading: 1 Corinthians 6:13c-15a, 17-20
Your bodies are members of Christ; glorify God in your body.

Gospel: John 1:35-42
The first disciples saw where Jesus was staying and they stayed with him.

In today’s reading, we hear Samuel respond eagerly, “Here I am!” each time the Lord calls him. May we, too, be listening for the call of God in our lives and be ready to say like the Psalmist, “Here am I Lord; I come to do your will.”
